The Claim that Hindus Lost the Mantle of Dharma and Warfare Morality
- The Video's Narrative: The speaker states that ancient Indic/Vedic civilisations possessed high levels of military morality (refusing to enslave women or children) (6:06 ), but claims that "the Hindus had lost it long ago" (8:02 ), leaving the Sikh Khalsa as the sole heirs to righteous warfare (Dharam Yudh ) (6:52 ).
- The Historical Error: This claims a theological monopoly on righteousness that ignores the massive historical record of Hindu empires maintaining strict martial codes (Dharma Shastras ) throughout the medieval and early modern periods.
- The Counter-Proof: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (1630–1680), the founder of the Maratha Empire, strictly enforced the Aajna Patra / Adnyapatra (royal code of conduct). When Maratha forces captured the daughter-in-law of the Muslim Governor of Kalyan (Mullah Ahmed), Shivaji famously reprimanded his officers, treated her with the highest dignity as a mother figure, and escorted her safely back to her family. Shivaji’s code explicitly forbade the molestation, enslavement, or forced conversion of captive women and children, proving that Dharma in warfare was fully alive in Hindu states independent of the Sikh movement.

The Maratha invasion of his governorship in Kalyan (occurring between 1648 and 1657 depending on the regional timeline used by historians) is corroborated by several contemporary external
records: Basatin-us-Salatin (Persian Court History of Bijapur): Written by Ibrahim Zubairi using direct Adil Shahi state farmans (decrees) and correspondences. It records Mulla Ahmad Navayat as the governor of the Kalyan jagir (fiefdom). It notes that Mulla Ahmad spent most of his time away at the capital city of Bijapur, leaving his family and deputy to handle local administration. This administrative absence directly allowed Shivaji’s general, Abaji Sondev, to stage a surprise raid and conquer the Kalyan-Bhiwandi
zone. Mughal State Records & Chronicals: Later official Persian reports from the Deccan wars track Mulla Ahmad's political career. Following the loss of Kalyan and growing tensions in Bijapur, Mulla Ahmad actually defected to the Mughal Empire, seeking an alliance with the Mughals before his eventual death.
The Assertion that Punjab Was Never Hindu
- The Video's Narrative: The speaker heavily relies on a localized "Indic/Vedic" separation to imply that the Punjab region was detached from wider Hindu history.
- The Historical Error: Geographically and historically, Punjab is the literal birthplace of what evolved into mainstream Hinduism.
- The Counter-Proof: The Rig Veda —the oldest scripture of Hinduism—was composed precisely in the Punjab region (historically known as Sapta Sindhu or the Land of Seven Rivers). Furthermore, major ancient Hindu universities like Takshashila (Taxila) were located in greater Punjab. The region was ruled by ancient Hindu dynasties (like the Mauryas and Guptas) and medieval Hindu rulers (like the Hindu Shahi dynasty of Kabul and Punjab) for centuries before the arrival of Islamic invasions or the birth of Sikhism in 1469. To claim Punjab was "never Hindu" is a complete fabrication that denies the region's geographical centrality to ancient Indian philosophy.
The Framing of the British Indian Army as Exclusively Punjabi/Sikh Loyalty
- The Video's Narrative: The speaker romanticizes the martial heritage of Punjab, framing it as an unyielding line of "righteous soldiers" (Sant-Sipahi ) (7:16 ).
- The Historical Error: He completely overlooks the calculated social engineering of the British Empire's Martial Races Theory.
- The Counter-Proof: After the 1857 Indian Rebellion, the British systematically dismantled recruitment from regions that rebelled and targeted Punjabis (Sikhs, Punjabi Muslims, and Dogras) and Gurkhas because they remained loyal (ass lickers) to the British Crown during the mutiny. This was not a continuation of an ancient, independent spiritual mantle; it was a collaborative colonial mechanism where Sikh soldiers enlisted for financial salaries, land grants, and imperial benefits (1:07 ).
The Anachronistic Revision of Dating vs. Courtship
- The Video's Narrative: The speaker attempts to argue that the Khalsa must develop a "dharmic/theological version of dating" (12:56 ) and claims that modern restrictions on premarital interactions are just "made-up culture" rather than religious principles (1:12:39 ).
- The Historical Error: He looks at medieval texts through a highly anachronistic, 21st-century Western lens.
- The Counter-Proof: The Sikh Rehat Maryada (Code of Conduct) and historical Rehatnamas are explicitly clear on the prohibition of Par-Driat (adultery and sexual relationships outside of marriage). In the 15th to 18th centuries, dating as a casual psychological market did not exist in any Eastern tradition (1:12:43 ). Relationships were structurally funneled through formal courtship or family alliances. Pretending that the Gurus implicitly endorsed a pragmatic dating roster as long as there is honesty is a total modern retcon designed to soothe the cognitive dissonance of diaspora youth (40:29 ).

Here are the literal, unfiltered scriptural facts and verses that cause internet apologists to panic:
The Scriptural Shaming of the Lustful Woman
- The
Metaphor of the Prostitute:
"There is one bed for the soul-bride, and the same bed for God, her Lord and Master. The self-willed manmukh does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence; she wanders around, in limbo.
Uttering, "Guru, Guru", she seeks His Sanctuary; so God comes to meet her, without a moment's delay.
One may perform many rituals, but the mind is filled with hypocrisy, evil deeds and greed.
When a son is born in the house of a prostitute, who can tell the name of his father?
Because of devotional worship in my past incarnations, I have been born into this life. The Guru has inspired me to worship the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har." - Ang 837 - The
Filthy Bride Verse:
"She may wear good clothes, but the bride is ugly and rude; her mind is false and impure.
She does not walk in harmony with the Will of her Husband Lord. Instead, she foolishly gives Him orders.
But she who walks in harmony with the Guru's Will, shall be spared all pain and suffering.
That destiny which was pre-ordained by the Creator cannot be erased.
She must dedicate her mind and body to her Husband Lord, and enshrine love for the Word of the Shabad.
Without His Name, no one has found Him; see this and reflect upon it in your heart.
O Nanak, she is beautiful and graceful; the Creator Lord ravishes and enjoys her." - Ang 89
Second
Translations:
- "Forsaking her Husband Lord and leaving her own home, she gives her love to another. Her desires are never satisfied, and she burns and cries out in pain. O Nanak, without the Name, she is ugly and ungraceful. She is abandoned and left behind by her Husband Lord." - Ang 89

Sikh Apologist:
If this were describing a woman's physical body, then logically, every Sikh woman who chants Naam would instantly become a supermodel, and every non-Sikh or atheist woman would physically transform into something deformed. We know that does not happen in the real world.
By the logic of the English translation, a person without Naam is a "filthy, rude, and evil wife." But how does Gurbani define a person who does good deeds without actively practicing
religion? In Sikh philosophy, Naam is not a verbal chant; it is the active presence of divine virtues—Truth, Compassion, Contendedness, Humility, and
Love. If an atheist dedicates their life to feeding the poor, fighting for justice, and loving humanity, Gurbani declares that they are actively practicing Naam, even if they do not intellectually believe in a
God. They have tapped into the universal creative energy of love. True beauty is defined entirely by humility, compassion, and divine connection.
True ugliness is defined by ego, materialism, and rejecting the truth.
Reality:
If a secular person or an atheist builds a hospital, feeds the poor, or fights for justice, but does it to feed their own ego ("Look at how good of a person I am"),
Gurbani considers that act spiritually dead. Why? Because they are reinforcing their own ego, which is the ultimate barrier to spiritual
liberation. On Ang
239 Guru Arjan Dev states that a person living entirely out of sync with the universe's ultimate truth (Simran) is like a crow in manure. No matter how nice the crow looks or what it does, its beak is still stuck in waste—meaning their mind is still trapped in the temporary mud of materialism, pride, and ego.
Crushing Failed Sikh Logic
- Chapter 3, Verses 5-8:
"All men are forced to act helplessly according to the impulses born of the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment.
One who restrains the senses and organs of action, but whose mind dwells on sense objects, certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender.
On the other hand, he who controls the senses by the mind and engages his active organs in works of devotion, without attachment, is by far superior.
Perform your prescribed duty, for action is better than inaction. A man cannot even maintain his physical body without work."
Here is how these two philosophies diverge on this exact point.
The Bhagavad Gita: The Path of Selfless, Detached Action
- The Rule: If a person fulfills their duties selflessly, works for the welfare of the world (Lokasangraha ), and does not attach their ego to the fruits of their labor, they are a yogi.
- The Atheist Fit: Under a broad interpretation of Karma Yoga, an atheist who works out of pure love for humanity can be considered "self-situated" in goodness. By acting without selfish desire, they are purifying their mind, even if they do not explicitly chant a God's name. They are aligning with cosmic order (Dharma ) through action alone.
Failed Sikh Gurbani: The Premise of Radical Dependence
- The "I" is the problem: Gurbani asserts that if an atheist claims, "I am a good person, I do good deeds, and I do not need God," the very use of the word "I" proves they are still trapped in Haumai (ego). They are taking credit for their goodness rather than recognizing that the capacity to do good belongs to the universal energy inside them.
- The Metaphor of the Guest: Imagine a guest who stays at a billionaire's mansion, enjoys the food, uses the luxury, but actively ignores the host and pretends the host doesn't exist. Gurbani views an atheist who enjoys a beautiful body and a rich life exactly like that ungrateful guest.
Sikh Guru Arjan writes on Ang
252: "Without understanding [the Creator], a person is just like an
animal."
No matter how refined, wealthy, or beautiful that animal is to the rest of the world, if they lack the spiritual consciousness to recognize their Source, they are missing the entire point of having a human incarnation.

The Final Blow on Adultery
Sikh Guru Arjan writes on Ang 252: "LALLA: People are entangled in the love of corrupt pleasures;"
"But, like the companionship of a poisonous snake, so is the desire for another's spouse. " - (jaisaa sa(n)g biseear siau hai re taiso hee ih par girahu)
Therefore, when Ang 252: says people are entangled in these pleasures, it is directly pointing at those who abandon moral laws and spiritual discipline to engage in illicit affairs or adultery.
The verse continues on Ang 252 :
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦ ਮਾਤੇ ॥
"They are drunk with the wine of egotistical intellect (Ahambudhi ) and Maya."
- The Free Will trap: Ahambudhi means relying entirely on your own human intellect, ego, and independent will while ignoring the universal spiritual law. Anyone who says, "I have the free will to sleep with whoever I want and chase my own pleasures," falls directly into this category. Gurbani states that this self-willed mind is drunk on illusion.
- The Godly hypocrites: This verse explicitly includes people who claim to be religious or godly but secretly disobey the Naam . A few lines later on the exact same page, the Sikh Guru writes: "When there is no love for the Naam, then these [religious] rituals are corrupt." You can put on a holy show, but if you secretly indulge in toxic vices like adultery, your outer "godliness" is deemed a fraud.
By choosing to be a slave to physical impulses (like adultery) and your own ego, you bind your soul to the material universe. Instead of breaking free and merging back into the Creator, the soul is forced back into the painful, repeating cycle of reincarnation.
Guru Ram Das (the 4th Sikh Guru) Ang 304 wrote:
"Over the head of the manmukh is the order of the woman; to her, he ever holds out his promises of goodness.
Those men who act according to the orders of women are impure, filthy and foolish.
Those impure men are engrossed in sexual desire; they consult their women and walk accordingly.
One who walks as the True Guru tells him to, is the true man, the best of the best.
He Himself created all women and men; the Lord Himself plays every play."
The Sikh Guru on Ang
304 is explicitly defining a form of moral and psychological slavery to lust. The verse describes a man who has become completely mindless, disoriented, and has compromised his own decision-making faculties because he is entirely consumed by physical attraction and infatuation.
However, if a text says a man lost control because he listened to a woman, it naturally implies that the woman acted as a seductive temptress.
Leap frog to Ang
403, Guru Arjan writes:
"The sweet flavors tempt you, and you are occupied by your false and filthy business.
Your senses are beguiled by sensual pleasures of sex, by anger, greed and emotional attachment.
The All-powerful Architect of Destiny has ordained that you shall be reincarnated over and over
again."
For an instant, you may savor pleasure, but afterwards, you shall regret it, again and again. ||1||
O blind man, meditate on the Lord, the Lord, your King."
By the definitions of both the verses (Ang
252 & Ang
403) and Sikh law, premarital sex, cohabitation, and adultery are entirely
prohibited in Sikhism. Anyone who engages in these acts is considered to be acting out of Kaam (lust) and living as a Manmukh (self-willed
egoist!)
The Dehumanization of Physical Pleasure
- The
Smearing of Desire:
"O sexual desire, you lead the mortals to hell; you make them wander in reincarnation through countless species." (Ang 1358)
The Structural Breakdown of the Speaker's Logic
- The Scriptural Reality: The GGS explicitly demands total mental and physical fidelity modeled on the medieval, submissive wife who exists solely to please her master. Sex is strictly authorized within the Anand Karaj (marriage) purely for societal stability and procreation.
- The " ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम" (Operating System) Patch: Because modern young Sikhs in the diaspora are living in a secular dating culture, internet apologists realize they are losing the next generation. If they tell the youth the raw truth—that the holy book compares casual dating and sexual exploration to a "barking dog" or a "prostitute"—the youth will instantly walk away (33:40 ).
- The Hypocritical Retcon: Therefore, they invent a completely fake, sanitized version of history where they pretend the Gurus were "sex-positive" or open to modern social dynamics (14:29 ). They use modern English words to mask the raw, patriarchal shaming embedded in the original Gurmukhi.
